Born July 20, 1902 in Dierks, Arkansas to Asa Jackson Forgy (1861 - 1941) and Piny Briggs Forgy (1872 - 1965). Graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1925. Commissioned into the US Army Reserve in 1925. Managed a country store and peach orchard. Married to Pauline Elaine Smith Forgy (1909 - 1993). Called to active duty in 1941. Commanded the 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment in Normandy. Hit in the head by a piece of shrapnel at 12:30 pm 26 July 44.
